Florian Pumhösl is developing an exhibition with new works for Vienna’s mumok museum, focussing on abstract films and painting. Simultaneously, another level of the museum is showing “Abstract Space”, an exhibition devised by Pumhösl in collaboration with the curator Matthias Michalka.
The publication reflects the structure of the exhibition and consists of two distinct parts, documenting both the show curated by the artist and the exhibition of his own artistic works. In terms of subject and form, the exhibition title alludes to the theme of interaction with space, with the numbers 6, 7, 8 referring to the levels of the museum taken up by the exhibition. The typography makes reference to a typeface drafted by Joost Schmidt, whose work is presented at the exhibition with loans from the Marzona Collection.
